Tenders invited for improvement and extension of Kam Pok Road
The Highways Department today (April 1) invited tenders for the improvement and extension of Kam Pok Road (Contract No HY/2010/09).
The works are expected to commence in June 2011 and will take about 33 months to complete (including 12 months of establishment period for landscaping works). The works mainly comprise:
- construction of a single two-lane carriageway approximately 490m in length and 10.3m in width with associated footpaths 2m in width connecting the existing Kam Pok Road to Castle Peak Road (Tam Mi);
- improvement of a section of Kam Pok Road approximately 145m in length (east of Pok Wai South Road) to a single two-lane carriageway 10.3m in width with associated footpaths 2m in width;
- improvement of a road section approximately 155m in length between Yau Pok Road and Man Yuen Road to a single two-lane carriageway 7.3m in width with associated footpaths 2m in width;
- construction of sections of cycle tracks 360m in total length
and 3.5m in width along a section of Kam Pok Road; and
- ancillary works including drainage, water supplies, slope and
landscaping works, construction of vertical noise barriers and
provision of lighting.
Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located in the lift lobby on the lower ground floor of Central Government Offices (East Wing), 20 Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong. Submission of tenders will close at noon on May 13, 2011 (Friday).
Mannings (Asia) Consultants Limited has completed the design work for the project. The Works Division of the Highways Department will supervise the construction works.
