Central - Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link roving exhibition

The Highways Department is holding a roving exhibition for the Central - Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link (CWB) project from today (October 1) to November to enhance public understanding of the benefits, construction methods, engineering challenges and features of the CWB project.

The CWB is a 4.5km-long dual three lane trunk road, including a 3.7km long tunnel section, connecting Central to the Island Eastern Corridor (IEC) at North Point via Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. Four slip roads are provided to enable road users to access to the CWB. Upon the commissioning of the CWB, the travelling time between Central and the IEC will be reduced to around five minutes, making the linkage between the east of Hong Kong Island and other districts in the western side of the territory smoother and more direct.
