Pre-tender notice for Second Stage Study of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link (Hung Shui Kiu - Qianhai)
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government agreed to jointly appoint consultants to conduct the Second Stage Study of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link (Hung Shui Kiu - Qianhai) under the framework of the "Task Force for Hong Kong-Shenzhen Co-operation on Cross-Boundary Railway Infrastructure" and its Technical Group on the planning, preliminary engineering feasibility, benefits, environmental impact as well as construction and operation arrangements of the railway scheme. The Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government issued a pre-tender notice today (October 28) for the Second Stage Study of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link (Hung Shui Kiu - Qianhai) for a period of 30 days, with tenders to be officially invited on November 28. Consultants from Hong Kong are encouraged to participate.
The Task Force has earlier commenced the First Stage Study of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link (Hung Shui Kiu - Qianhai) to establish the strategic value and necessity of the project and formulate a preliminarily feasible scheme. The HKSAR Government and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government have reached a consensus on the findings of the First Stage Study, the study is expected to be completed within this year.
