Tenders invited for Provision of Universal Accessibility Facilities at Footbridges, Elevated Walkways and Subways - Package 8 Contract 1
The Highways Department (HyD) today (March 1) invited tenders for the Provision of Universal Accessibility Facilities at Footbridges, Elevated Walkways and Subways - Package 8 Contract 1 (Contract No. HY/2024/09).
The works are scheduled to commence in June 2024 and will take about 42 months to complete. The works mainly include:
(i) construction of 32 lifts at 20 walkways located in Sai Kung, Tuen Mun, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Tai Po, North District and Southern District;
(ii) remaining works of 14 lifts at nine walkways located in Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po and Eastern District; and
(iii) associated civil works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works, modification works for the existing walkways, roads and drainage works, lighting works and landscaping works.
The HyD has appointed Atkins China Limited (Atkins) as the consultant to supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the office of Atkins at 13/F, Wharf T&T Centre, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The invitation to tender was gazetted today. Submission of tenders will close at noon on April 12, 2024 (Friday). Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the lobby of the Public Entrance on G/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong.
