Road Safety Enhancement

To enhance public road safety, we from time to time review and implement roadside safety improvement measures at appropriate locations, including the installation of crash cushion and raised profile markings.

Crash Cushion
One example of roadside safety improvement measures implemented is the installation of crash cushion at Tuen Mun Road bus-bus interchange. The crash cushion can absorb colliding vehicles' kinetic energy and prevent vehicles from directly hitting roadside fixtures, which in turn can reduce the severity of possible injury to drivers and passengers caused by accidents.

Raised Profile Marking
Another example of roadside safety improvement measures implemented is the installation of raised profile markings at Tolo Highway. When vehicles deviate from the road and drive onto the raised profile markings, sound and vibration will be produced alerting the drivers to refocus and return to the traffic lanes and thus preventing accidents.
