The First Cross Harbour Tunnel in Hong Kong
Cross Harbour Tunnel is the first tunnel crossing the Victoria Habour in Hong Kong. It is also the first transport project implemented using the Build-Operate-Transfer model in Hong Kong. The construction works started in 1969 and the tunnel was inaugurated in 1972.

Nowadays, there are altogether 3 road tunnels crossing the Victoria Harbour - Cross Harbour Tunnel, Eastern Harbour Crossing and Western Harbour Crossing. The average daily traffic carried by these tunnels is more than 255,000 vehicle trips in total.
